A home for everything that lives on your desk.

Most desk tidies are plastic boxes with too many slots for things you do not own. This one is solid oak with five bays sized around what a stationery user actually keeps within reach: pens, pencils, a ruler, scissors, cards, and a sliding tray for the small things that vanish.

Why it earns a place on your desk

  • Solid European oak, hand-oiled β€” not veneer, not MDF, not wrapped board
  • Five compartments laid out for real stationery: two narrow, two wide, one tall
  • A sliding base tray for clips, erasers, refills and the small things that disappear
  • Wool felt pad bonded to the base so it never scratches a desk
  • Warm, low-sheen oil finish that can be refreshed at home in ten minutes

The details

Solid oak throughout. Every wall and divider is cut from solid European oak and joined, not glued onto a composite core. That gives it the weight to stay put when you pull a pen out one-handed, and it means the edges are real wood: a visible grain and a chamfer you can feel, rather than a wrapped edge that peels after a year.

Compartments sized by use. Two narrow bays up front hold the pens and pencils you reach for constantly, standing upright where you can see the nib or the lead grade. Two wider bays take a ruler, a pair of scissors, a glue stick, a stack of cards. A tall bay at the back is sized for a phone, a small notebook on its edge, or a folded letter that needs answering.

The sliding tray is the part people do not expect. The whole unit sits on a shallow tray that pulls forward β€” that is where paper clips, erasers, spare refills, a spare nib, a roll of tape go. It means the small items are still on the desk but not cluttering the five bays you can see.

Finished to be maintained. We use a natural hardwax oil rather than a plastic lacquer. It leaves the grain open and slightly warm to the touch, it does not go glossy where your hand rests, and when it eventually dries out you wipe on another coat with a cloth. No sanding, no stripping.

Quiet on the desk. The base is lined with pressed wool felt in a dark charcoal, so the organiser can be slid across a wooden or laminate desk without scoring it. Small detail, permanent difference.

Good to know

Every kexvynβ„’ piece is designed in-house and made in small runs, so materials vary slightly from batch to batch β€” grain in the oak, tone in the leather, patina on the brass. Those are the marks of real materials rather than defects, and they are why no two are identical.
