A pocket notebook has one job: be there at the moment an idea shows up. This one is light, soft-spined and sized for a jacket pocket or the outside of a bag β and it uses the same dot-grid paper as our full-size journals, so nothing you write feels like a second-class note.

The details
Sized for the pocket you actually use. At 105 Γ 148 mm this is the classic A6 pocket format β the same footprint as a large phone, about 9 mm thick. It disappears into a jacket pocket, the side pocket of a tote, or the front flap of a backpack. It is also the size that feels natural when you write with the book cupped in one hand, which is what pocket notebooks are for.
A cover that bends with you. Instead of a rigid board we use a 350gsm uncoated card stock in a muted sage green with a smooth matte finish. It flexes along the spine, so the book flattens into your palm rather than resisting it, and the matte surface takes a pencil scribble or a pen annotation without smudging. Rounded corners mean it will not chew through the lining of a pocket.
Same paper family, smaller format. The inside is 90gsm cream stock with a 5 mm dot grid printed in the same low-contrast clay tone we use across the range β the grid is there when you want to sketch a quick floor plan or square off a list, and invisible when you just want to write. The slightly lower weight keeps the book slim while still taking ink without feathering.
The band does more than close it. A thin sage elastic runs around the cover. Shut, it keeps the book from splaying open in a bag. Open, it slides over the back cover to hold the pages flat. Slip a pencil or a folded receipt under it and it becomes a pocket of its own.
Buy three. Pocket notebooks work best in rotation: one in the bag, one by the bed, one on the desk. At this price the sensible thing is to keep a small stack and never be caught without one.

Good to know
